It’s been a year of exciting changes and it’s now time for us to hand over.Do you want to take over and help make CAMSoc a more visible, fun and impactful brand across the university? Please join us! Your application should be sent to us at before April 23rd at 00:00. We accept applications on a rolling basis so do get yours in as quickly as possible.

These are the roles we have to offer:

Publicity and communications officers
(2 roles)

This role involves:

  • Working creatively to find new ways to raise awareness of our brand
  • Posting relevant articles/videos/content on all relevant platforms: Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat
  • Creating termly social media plan
  • Creating Facebook event pages
  • Assessing the society’s online presence by looking at data, provided e.g. by Facebook
  • Emailing members of relevant academic departments to advertise events
  • Liaising with other members of the communications team

This role requires:

  • Creativity
  • Organisational skills – planning publicity presence in advance
  • Strategic and analytical thinking – the ability to make data-driven strategic decisions
Events officers (2 roles)

This role involves:

  • Organising CAMSoc speaker events and workshops
  • Finding and inviting potential speakers (which other committee members will often be able to help with!)
  • Arranging the practicalities of their visit, booking venues, and ordering drinks and refreshments if needed
  • Organising committee and society-wide socials and outings

This role requires:

  • People skills – being comfortable around speakers and members, supporting their needs
  • Thinking ahead – taking the initiative to come up with new suggestions
  • Organisational skills – staying on top of emails and juggling contacts
Finance and sponsorship officer

This role involves:

  • Liaising with any current sponsors to maintain a good relationship and ensure continued support
  • Searching for new sponsors by getting in touch with new companies
  • Keeping the books and yearly reports of finances
  • Making sure accounting and reimbursements are up to date

This role requires:

  • Good time management skills
  • Organisational skills – staying on top of emails and juggling contacts
  • Great communication skills – particularly on the phone
