The committee at CAMSoc are committed to helping you develop the skills you will need to land your dream job. That’s why we run a brand consultancy programme: CAMBrand.

CAMBrand is a one of a kind opportunity that allows you to solve real problems for real brands, gaining invaluable experience in strategy and marketing. Not only that, but you’ll be a member of an all-star team, giving you the perfect opportunity to develop your communication, teamwork and leadership skills. CAMSoc will support teams too by running workshops and mentoring sessions in parallel.

CAMBrand runs for 5 weeks meaning that it’s a great way to gain experience (and CV points!) whilst managing your studies. One line on your CV will say you’re a Cambridge graduate, what will the other thirty say?

The Company
Mr Lee’s Pure Foods is a Bournemouth-based food producer aiming to become the world’s number 1, premium healthier convenience food solution, starting with Mr Lee’s Noodles. The company is best described in this video featuring Mr Lee himself.

Project Scope
The main challenge faced by Mr Lee’s Noodles is tackling the public perception that instant noodles are bad for you. Other challenges include budget and the differences between the UK and US market. America presents a huge opportunity for the company, as a nation without any healthier noodle alternatives. This project will involve inventing two campaign ideas that will tackle the differing market both online and offline.

The Company
“Innovating the tissue industry with the world’s fastest growing plant and bringing sustainable healthy, low carbon solutions to your home and office.”

There is a current trend on sustainability and it is catching like wildfire! The Cheeky Panda are creating a range of ultra-sustainable, low carbon and healthy bamboo tissue products.

Project Scope
This project will involve driving brand awareness through digital / social media marketing, encouraging initial purchase and eventually brand loyalty! The campaigns will be designed with the view to educate, inspire and convert the online viewers into cheeky buyers. The Cheeky Panda is not just selling tissue paper products, it is selling a lifestyle and brighter future with sustainability at its heart.

The Company
In the UK, Blue Tap sells reusable “Life” bottles and vacuum flasks, in order to help people cut down on their plastic waste. The profit from the sales of these water projects goes to fund projects in Uganda and beyond. Blue Tap’s mission is to change the way the world drinks water; giving people access to safe drinking water and helping people in emerging markets to cut down on plastic waste (from bottled or bagged water).

Project Scope
With all the packaging wasted over Christmas, Blue Tap wants to help people cut down their plastic waste in the New Year with a Blue Tap reusable Life bottle. This project will involve:

  • Designing and carrying out a physical and social media advertising campaign – Blue Tap are giving the teams free reign!
  • Exploring locations to sell the bottles
  • Generating a target customer profile

The Company
Curiscope, based in Brighton, is behind one of the most watched virtual reality experiences of all time, with over 30 million views. Their mission is to bring learning to life through beautifully designed and innovative augmented and virtual reality products. Curiscope created one the first Augmented Reality consumer products, the Virtuali-Tee, to transform the way that children learn science both at home and at school.

Project Scope
This project involves creating a 6-month marketing strategy to drive the purchase of the Virtuali-Tee as a gift both in the UK and the US. Curiscope want the product to be respected amongst the wider consumer and families as a fantastic digital learning experience/toy which their kids will love!

The Company
Your.MD is an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) powered Personal Health Assistant (PHA) that offers trusted, free health advice to anyone with a mobile phone. Available globally on the web, as an app and accessible by popular messenger platforms such as Skype, Your.MD is using technology to improve access to healthcare for everyone.

Project Scope
This project involves targeted market research and insight that will answer Your.MD’s specific marketing challenges.  For instance, how can we convince a user that tracking their health is beneficial? What can you do to shift perception from instant gratification to the long-term? In addition, you will also get the opportunity to work on a Facebook ad campaign that if successful will be implemented. Finally, if you impress, there may also be internship opportunities that can lead to a full-time position at one of the UK’s leading start-ups!
